Cookie Dough Made to Eat!

A few things…
1. I’ve met very few people who don’t like to eat raw cookie dough, which leads me to believe that EVERYONE likes to eat raw cookie dough! 
2. I love Pinterest. I mostly use it for recipes. I have found two different recipes  for “safe to eat cookie dough” and decided to try them both and decide which one I  like best. 
3. I’ve been eating raw cookie dough for 23 years and haven’t gotten sick from it. So I think it’s obvious that I am not worried about salmonella from raw eggs, or whatever the problem is with eating raw cookie dough (or batter). I just decided to try these recipes for the fun of it. And hey, save myself some eggs. 

Just so you know, I liked the second one better. A lot better. I just want to give you your options!

I tried two different recipes. The first is from Fun Foods on a Budget Blog

Here’s the first one:

Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Here’s what you do…
1. In a medium bowl, cream together the brown sugar and butter.
2. Stir in vanilla and milk. 
3. Mix in the flour, salt, and chocolate chips until well blended.
4. Chill in the refrigerator. 
5. Eat

Here’s the second one. This recipe is from Willow Bird Baking Blog. I liked this one the best!

Ingredients: 
1/2 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt 
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Here’s what you do…
1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
2. Stir in the flour, salt, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
3. Eat 

I did make some adjustments to the second recipe. When I made it, it had way too much salt (it called for 1/2 teaspoon) so I made another half batch (no salt this time) and mixed them together and it was great. Also, it said to add water at the end for a different consistency, but I liked it how it was, so I didn’t add any. The recipe I’ve typed here is the one that is good in my opinion!

So now it’s time for you to do one of two things:
1. Make the second recipe and love it like I did and forever wonder if you would have liked the first recipe better
OR
2. Make both recipes and decide for yourself which you prefer.

    Larry and I just made your second recipe, it’s pretty good. We put it in the fridge to chill it and it made it all crumbly. Ethan loved it!

    • It made it all crumbly? Hmmm…mine is fine! Let’s see…did you use real butter or did you use margarine….? I don’t know if that makes a difference, but it’s a start.

        I used real butter. I’m going to try the first recipe next. We didn’t finish the batch, although Ethan took some to work in a little baggie!
